Our Baby Shrek

Just had to share this super cute photo of our Boy! The girls decided he needed to be "dressed up"! I am sure that it is only the beginning of things to come. Yesterday Archie mastered the art of waving bye bye. So cute and so clever!

Mmm Food

Archie has really settled into solids well. He loves his food. I just find the whole preperation of solids very tedious. And I try to cook everything fresh as the girls didn't tolerate tinned food. So I am back to stewing fruit and veges and freezing them into ice cube trays. Although tonight he had the same as us - roast vegies but mashed. They went down a treat! I have been reading this website Here
Its really interesting. We are not following it to a tee but I like the thought of having a bub that is happy to feed himself. We are already doing finger foods - soft fruit and cooked veges in chip size. Its going well but the downsize is that its really messy and he gets a bit frustrated if he can't have the food right away!

Happy Valentines Day

Well not much happening in this household for V Day but the girls and I did manage some baking for Michael. I have finally mastered his all time favourite Lemon Meringue Tarts thanks to Bec over here . Thanks they were just so easy. This one will definitely be going into the recipe book.

Care Flight Bears

Today we had a flying visit from a special friend who I lived with in Townsville. Willi was an amazing support for me and I will always be grateful for the love and friendship she provided me with when I first moved to Townsville. And not to mention I discovered a wonderful friend in her daughter Cassia (waves to Cass if you are reading this!). It has been 3 years since I have seen Willi and she hadn't met the girls just seen lots of photos.

Willi blew in to town in her usual whirlwind / crazy style and brought with her 8 beautiful CareFlight Bears that she has been collecting for the girls since they were born. For those that don't know the girls story they were born 29 weeks prem in Sydney and at just 6 days old they were flown back to Canberra by the wonderful CareFlight Team. So as you could imagine the girls were incredibly taken with Willi or Lilli (as Georgia calls her) and her bears. Such a touching gesture from a beautiful person.

I also have to share this artwork. This is the gallery that Willi is managing in Katoomba. The artwork is amazing and I can't wait to visit and see it in real life. Here

So if you are in Katoomba it would be worth a visit. I would love to put some of this art on my birthday wishlist but its a little out of our price range at the moment. I might have to just be happy with some of her prints!

Back to School

The girls returned to their 3 year old playschool today. We tried really hard to get a nice photo of the girls but Georgia did not want to participate. (She can be a stubborn minx). She had a few tears as Michael left her and the teachers said she didn't want to participate for the first 10 minutes or so until she realised that she was missing out!

Annabel also did her first painting. She is so proud of it and its taken pride of place on the fridge. Last year she didn't do any painting as she was worried about getting her hands dirty. (Not too sure which side she gets that from - maybe the English!).

Twinkle Toes

Our little man just loves the jolly jumper. Today was his third go in it and I can safely say that he has mastered it. It just requires very close supervision. Annabel keeps asking, "is it a swing Mum. Can I give him a push." I have a vision of him flying down the hallway after his sisters give him a friendly push.

The girls adore him so much. We had some little friends over for a play and morning tea this morning and I found them all surrounding Archie on the mat with Emmy gently patting his back and my girls saying " Be careful Emmy, just gently. He's our brother and he's got a precious head. Don't you hurt him." (God it sounds like me!). I have no doubt that as they grow older they will defend their little bro.
The girls head off to school tomorrow. We are all very excited. The girls are mainly excited about their new lunch boxes. Annabel wanted lunch packed on Friday. Back with some school photos tomorrow
