Pearl Beach

On Friday we drove up to Pearl Beach (an hour north) of Sydney to meet up with the family. We rented out an amazing beachhouse with 5 bedrooms and 20 metres walk to the beach. It rained every day apart from Friday. But it still didn't stop the girls from swimming. Annabel loved the beach. From the moment she got up in the morning all she wanted to do was go swimmin and diggin. Georgia enjoyed the water once she got in but she hates the sand. Hates walking on it and playing it. Not sure where she gets this from. She is a bit of a princess. Next time we will take her gumboots. It was a great weekend......nice to see the family before Christmas.

34 Degree Heat, Evaporative Cooling & Chocolate Paddlepops

With the heat we have had lately and the thought of heading into another long, hot summer we decided it was time to bite the bullet and install some cooling. Fortunately with the 30 plus temperates we have had lately....it has already had a workout! It is nice to be able to put the girls to bed and know that their room will not be sitting at 28 degrees.

Here are some photos of the girls enjoying a chocolate paddlepop. It was their first ever icecream on a stick. What a nightmare. We had paddlepop from one end of the back step to the other!

New Hair

Well today we both got new haircuts. The little mullets are gone, replaced with a cute bob and pretty clips or kips (as Annabel calls them). It was a bit traumatic to begin with but after being bribed with biscuits and baby chino's we sat still!
HOW CUTE DO WE LOOK???

Few & Far Between

Well our updates have been pretty few and far between. We are not slack its just been sickness central here once again!. Mum has been sick with a nasty gastro bug that knocked her for six!
So what have we been doing......hanging out with Dad. Thankfully all the bugs have gone and this week we will be able to resume our normal activities like music class, cooking with Mum and seeing all our friends. Two new photos - Georgia's new smile and Annabel eating the batter off the beaters after helping make some biccie's.

Daddy is an Aussie Citizen

(Georgia, Neve, Amy & Annabel)

This morning we proudly watched Daddy (Michael) make his affirmation to Australia and accept his Australian Citizenship. Yah. It has been 6 long years since we kicked off the process with visas. As Daddy often says "it would have been cheaper & faster to catch a boat to Australia." But now its done and Daddy's allegiances will have to change to support Australia in the cricket and rugby and he can now legally vote! he ha
The girls actually sat for an hour throughout the ceremony. I did have to bribe them halfway through with dried fruit and biccies. We sat with Anna, Neve & Amy, who are friends in our playgroup. So we were also able to watch Simon accept his citizenship.

Who Needs Expensive Toys??

Not us....It has been hot here the last few days and it is still only spring! So I have been letting the girls play out the back with a small bucket of water, some cups, a face washer and a pot plant. What more could two little girls want!!!! My pot plant has never seen so much water. They spent about an hour an half moving water between their buckets, Charlie's bowl and the pot plant.

Floriade

We spent yesterday with my MG at Floriade. It was lovely, great weather and a nice picnic lunch. We didn't really check out too many flowers but just hung around the Kids at Play area. The girls had a great time.
Today we went back with Nanna Shirley. We spent 3 hours looking at the flowers, feeding the ducks & playing at the park. Needless to say we were all pretty tired by the time we got home. We are loving someone else to play with and help entertain. I think next Friday will be a sad day when we put Nan on the plane to go home. I have told Nan she could take them back up home for a few years...but she said she is a bit worried about keeping up with them...they don't stop!!!

Sickness Central

Well since my last post...everyone has been sick but ME. Why is it that us mothers never catch the nasty bugs??? I think we stay well so that we can clean up after everyone else. Michael, Georgia & Annabel all got hit with a nasty vomiting bug over the space of 10 days. Thankfully it seems to have disappeared which is lucky as we have a busy long weekend planned - Liv & Pat's wedding, Mia's 2nd Birthday Party and pile of mulch and soil that is stting in our driveway waiting to get to the garden! Over the last few days I have also managed to get a bit of sewing done. A party dress / top for both the girls. I decided that the girls needed to have something that is a bit girly to wear to all the parties we have coming up, rather than jeans or pants. I took some photos of the girls in their new dresses this afternoon. Have a good Long Weekend.

Diggin in the Garden

Just thought I would share these photos...Georgia & Annabel diggin in the garden! They love being outside and we have been spending a lot of time out there weeding & diggin (as Annabel calls it). We are getting ready for a big delivery of mulch and dirt as we are replanting the back gardens and irrigation systems that Charlie destroyed as a puppy. Time to get the gardens up to scratch so they are ready to go if we need to sell in a hurry early next year. And yes the girls are in little pinnie's that I made from an old vintage pattern (thanks Mum). We dressed up for playgroup this morning. Which is highly unusual for us.... as they generally only wear practical (climbing, running & jumping) clothes.

Happy 2nd Birthday Georgia & Annabel

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY. I can't believe that our little girls are now 2! After such a precious start we have come a long way. Some tough times, lots of tears & tantrums (mainly mum's) but we made it and it was worth every second. We couldn't imagine our life without you both!

Enough of the soppy stuff..They had a wonderful day. Lots of presents and a trip to the zoo. They loved the zoo, particularly looking at the Big animals - bears, monkey's,tigers and sharks.

We then continued their birthday celebrations with Brunch in the Park on Saturday with our Mothers Group and close friends. What a prefect day. We were blessed with great weather, good food (pink cupcakes & fairy bread) and fantastic friends. We couldn't have asked for a nicer way to celebrate the girls special day.

We Have a Blog

Finally...we have a blog (GASP..). It will be used to record the adventures that we have with the girls. This may be boring and trivial for some but it will be nice to keep a record of their goings on. I have never been great at keeping a diary but I will try my very best to update it every few days. So rather than sending out email updates and photos people will be able to log onto our blog and leave comments (nice ones of course). We hope you enjoy.
