Matching Pinnies

I had to post these photos. Firstly I just love the bowl haircuts. And the pinnies that Peta and I are wearing in the photo (made by Nanna Shirley) are from the same pattern that Mum has made up for the girls.

Gotta love it when a vintage pattern is used for 2 generations!

I love these photos of the Georgia and Annabel. I think I have really captured their cheeky personalities. The girls wore the pinnies to school today and we had lots of nice comments from other parents and teachers. Its just nice to be able dress the girls in something that isn't pink and blue.

He is on the Go!

Archie is now camando crawling and in the last 24 hours he has worked dout how to get up on his kness and is rocking back and forward. I don't think it will be long till he is crawling properly. He just loves being with his big sisters and yesterday I found him under the dining table while they ate breaky!

He is now 6.5 months and we had his 6 month check up today. Some vital stats 7.56kg and length 67cm. Our little baby is growing up!

No much to report on the girls. They are enjoying school (actually they love it and so do I). I will attempt to get a photo of all three of them this weekend.

Our Baby Shrek

Just had to share this super cute photo of our Boy! The girls decided he needed to be "dressed up"! I am sure that it is only the beginning of things to come. Yesterday Archie mastered the art of waving bye bye. So cute and so clever!

Mmm Food

Archie has really settled into solids well. He loves his food. I just find the whole preperation of solids very tedious. And I try to cook everything fresh as the girls didn't tolerate tinned food. So I am back to stewing fruit and veges and freezing them into ice cube trays. Although tonight he had the same as us - roast vegies but mashed. They went down a treat! I have been reading this website Here
Its really interesting. We are not following it to a tee but I like the thought of having a bub that is happy to feed himself. We are already doing finger foods - soft fruit and cooked veges in chip size. Its going well but the downsize is that its really messy and he gets a bit frustrated if he can't have the food right away!

Happy Valentines Day

Well not much happening in this household for V Day but the girls and I did manage some baking for Michael. I have finally mastered his all time favourite Lemon Meringue Tarts thanks to Bec over here . Thanks they were just so easy. This one will definitely be going into the recipe book.

Care Flight Bears

Today we had a flying visit from a special friend who I lived with in Townsville. Willi was an amazing support for me and I will always be grateful for the love and friendship she provided me with when I first moved to Townsville. And not to mention I discovered a wonderful friend in her daughter Cassia (waves to Cass if you are reading this!). It has been 3 years since I have seen Willi and she hadn't met the girls just seen lots of photos.

Willi blew in to town in her usual whirlwind / crazy style and brought with her 8 beautiful CareFlight Bears that she has been collecting for the girls since they were born. For those that don't know the girls story they were born 29 weeks prem in Sydney and at just 6 days old they were flown back to Canberra by the wonderful CareFlight Team. So as you could imagine the girls were incredibly taken with Willi or Lilli (as Georgia calls her) and her bears. Such a touching gesture from a beautiful person.

I also have to share this artwork. This is the gallery that Willi is managing in Katoomba. The artwork is amazing and I can't wait to visit and see it in real life. Here

So if you are in Katoomba it would be worth a visit. I would love to put some of this art on my birthday wishlist but its a little out of our price range at the moment. I might have to just be happy with some of her prints!

Back to School

The girls returned to their 3 year old playschool today. We tried really hard to get a nice photo of the girls but Georgia did not want to participate. (She can be a stubborn minx). She had a few tears as Michael left her and the teachers said she didn't want to participate for the first 10 minutes or so until she realised that she was missing out!

Annabel also did her first painting. She is so proud of it and its taken pride of place on the fridge. Last year she didn't do any painting as she was worried about getting her hands dirty. (Not too sure which side she gets that from - maybe the English!).

Twinkle Toes

Our little man just loves the jolly jumper. Today was his third go in it and I can safely say that he has mastered it. It just requires very close supervision. Annabel keeps asking, "is it a swing Mum. Can I give him a push." I have a vision of him flying down the hallway after his sisters give him a friendly push.

The girls adore him so much. We had some little friends over for a play and morning tea this morning and I found them all surrounding Archie on the mat with Emmy gently patting his back and my girls saying " Be careful Emmy, just gently. He's our brother and he's got a precious head. Don't you hurt him." (God it sounds like me!). I have no doubt that as they grow older they will defend their little bro.
The girls head off to school tomorrow. We are all very excited. The girls are mainly excited about their new lunch boxes. Annabel wanted lunch packed on Friday. Back with some school photos tomorrow

All About The Boy

I decided he need his own post just so he doesn't miss out.

Archie has just discovered a love for the Fisher Price Swing. We need close supervision as he has many hands wanting to help! He has also just learnt how to cough. He has never been a baby that woke up crying for a feed just babbles but now the little monkey coughs (over and over again) just to let us know he is awake.

Our little man is nearly 6 months, I can't believe that time has gone so fast. He has been on solids for the last 6 weeks as he was wanting to feed 3 times a night. Eeek. He loves his vegies.

Archie just adores the girls. Every time he hears their voices his head pops up looking for them. This is making feeding very interesting and at times challenging! But he is a beautiful happy boy and we wouldn't swap him for the world!

Style Queens

Its been a while between posts. We have had a nice holiday with Dad but we are looking forward to the return of school because playgroup resumes and so does 3 year old playschool. I had to share these two photos. The girls have become really funny about their clothes over the last two months. Georgia has two or three changes a day and Annabel just loves to accessorise!

This is what Annabel chose to wear to the park last week. Michael took the girls and didn't realise till he started pushing her on the swing that she was decked out in all her glory!

Georgia and Ted. These teddies were a present from Paul and Alice when the girls were born. Brown Ted as he has been named doesn't leave Georgia's side. Although we have managed to convince her that he stays in the car when we go out so that he doesn't get lost!

The Day After

Some photos of our wonderful Christmas Day. It was incredibly relaxing with no fuss but lots of fun and plenty of time to play with new toys and jump on the new trampoline. Even Aunty Pete gave it a go!

Pop Goes The Wiggles

Well the title says it all...we had so much fun! It was a bit overwhelming to start with. The girls just didn't know where to look - the stage or the big screens. We had perfect seats, just 4 rows back and Archie loved the lights and music. The Wiggles are such amazing performers..they have a great sense of humour. I hope they come back again next year...we will definitely go again.

A Conversation with a 3 year old About Dinner...

Goes like this...
"What's for dinner Mum?"
" We are having hamburgers. Is that okay?"
"Mmm delicious. Do I get a special drink and a special toy as well? Will it come in a box?"

Can you tell what we ate while we were away?

And some sewing..A gorgeous little softie for our special friend who was christened on the weekend. We named the softie Archie the Cosmonaut. Thankfully he doesn't look anything like the real thing!!

We've all Been on a Summer Holiday.....

Archie our happy boy....

Annabel & Georgia - the girls in holiday mode in their Maccas sunnies

No posting from us for a while. We have had two weeks holiday to Coffs Harbour and Yamba, with a visit to the rellies in between. The girls had a great time. Lazy days spent at the beach, brunch at the cafe and plenty of resting and reading books for Mum and Dad. Can't say that there was much chance to catch up on sleep on my behalf but M managed to sneek the odd 2 second catnap while I wasn't looking.

It was also Michael's 40th Birthday. He wanted to sneak out of town for it, in a hope that the day would just slide by. But the kids and I made sure he celebrated in style.....chocolate cupcakes, lollies and party hats! We also had a nice birthday dinner with family on our way home and organised him a fantastic soccer cake. (photos of this still to come, once Aunty Jen get organised)

Spring in Canberra = Floriade

There is nothing like the opportunity to snort (this is what the girls call sniff) the flowers. The photos speak for themselves...the girls had a great afternoon with the highlight being the animal petting ring. Once they were over their fear of the woolly sheep we struggled to get them out!
